Warehousing and Storage - A New Guide to Health and Safety

At the end of November 2007, the Health & Safety Executive published the new version of HSG76, the complete guide to health and safety in warehouses that first appeared in 1992.

The book, which runs to 122 pages, is aimed at managers, supervisors and those with other health and safety interests in warehouses and storage facilities. It is a very useful addition that has been produced with the help of a cross section of industry experts including the AITT.

Sections on materials handling include mechanical and manual handling as well as how to deal with vehicles in and around the warehouse and working at height. The guide also covers various storage systems as well as occupational health, environment and welfare and slips and trips.
