At 6:00pm on Friday 20 August a team of 5 determined young men set off from the base of Ben Nevis in Scotland with the aim of climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
Mission accomplished At 4:17pm on Saturday 21 August they returned to the base of Mount Snowdon with the mission accomplished in 22hrs 43mins – a fantastic if rather exhausting achievement. To give them added determination, the team had decided to raise money for Cancer Research and their initial modest target of £1250 had already been beaten before they set off. With financial support to come from BSkyB and Bloombergs that target is going to be literally smashed.
The driving force Mentor provided support and sponsorship to the adventure by providing the minibus and 2 drivers – Richard Shore and Steve Baldwin - to ferry the climbers the 500 miles between the 3 peaks.
