Training courses on all types of overhead cranes and jib cranes

Overhead, Gantry and Jib Crane Training

Overhead, Gantry and Jib Crane Training

Overhead cranes are used in many different types of industrial applications and, although the principle of operation remains the same (i.e. the load is lifted from directly above), the methods of control do vary.

The main types of overhead crane control are;

  • Pendant Control – the crane is manoeuvred by a pendant control attached to the crane that is held at ground level by the operator
  • Remote Control – this is similar to the pendant control system but the remote control is not attached to the crane thus allowing the operator more freedom to work from the optimum location.
  • Cab Control – the operator is located in a cab that is usually attached to the crane to give them good vision of the operation from above.
