Forklift Operator Training

Any organisation that has lift trucks in operation must ensure that all employees likely to use the equipment pass a fully accredited forklift operator training course. It is the responsibility of the employer, under regulation 9 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 98) to ensure that all employees have adequate training before they use work equipment. A detailed explanation of the training required can be found in the Approved Code of practice for Rider Operated Trucks.

Mentor has over 115 dedicated instructors conducting forklift operator training across the UK on a 24/7 basis. Each instructor has a uniformed course for each piece of equipment they conduct training on, thus ensuring the high standards of training is maintained nationwide. Mentor instructors run the majority of courses on customer sites to allow site specific training and risk assessments to be carried out.

Forklift operator trainingTraining courses can run for one, three or five days and are usually conducted on a customer's site or at one of Mentors training centres at Chesterfield or Bromsgrove. The courses cover practical and theoretical training methods, including all aspects of Health and Safety that must be adopted to ensure that the equipment is used safely for the purpose that it was designed for.
